<p>SilentUnicorn all started with Andrea, who remains at the helm of the company. Andrea&rsquo;s expertise is in deep tech and growing businesses.</p>
<p>Andrea grew up in Sicily, where from a young age he was a tech enthusiast. He started his career as a teenager modelling currencies&rsquo; dynamics in order to build effective trading software - despite knowing nothing about FX when he started!</p>
<p>Driven by the dream of financial freedom, Andrea fell madly in love with Bitcoin when he first stumbled across it in 2011. What started out as mining for a few hundred Euros led to an obsession with building businesses and blockchain technology, which meant he left his studies in Applied and Computational Mathematics at the Polytechnic of Turin to build and create full-time.</p>
<p>Over the past decade Andrea has built, invested in and advised on a wide variety of successful tech businesses, which became the foundation for SilentUnicorn.&nbsp;</p>
<p>From having nothing to losing everything, from sleeping in garages to dining with Princes, Andrea is most widely known for co-founding Efforce with Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak.</p>
<p>In 2021, Andrea was listed in Forbes 30 Under 30.</p>
<p>Andrea lives and breathes tech so much that he could not think of anything non-tech related to add in this &lsquo;personal&rsquo; bit ;)</p>

<p>Nadia works across SilentUnicorn, with a particular focus on strategy, helping businesses to grow and communicate with the outside world.</p>
<p>Nadia grew up in Yorkshire where she was a total science geek - winning the PFA prizes for Biology, Chemistry and Economics. She achieved the highest mark in the UK in her Biology GCSE, won the National Award for Marketing in Young Enterprise (the UK&rsquo;s entrepreneurship programme) and was elected as Head Girl. Unlike the rest of the partners, Nadia did not launch a business at school - unless selling daffodils outside her house counts! Instead she spent as much time as she could in the drama studio, at poetry competitions and lost in books and plays. She attended SCALA School of Performing Arts, is Guildhall Grade 8 in Speech &amp; Drama and worked as an extra on television shows such as Emmerdale and Frost.</p>
<p>Chasing her dream of a fairer world, Nadia went on to study Law at the University of Cambridge where she became a Scholar upon achieving one of the highest firsts in her first year. During her time at Cambridge Nadia was selected as President of the Cambridge University Middle Temple Society and awarded The Senior Harris Scholarship, The Rebecca Flower Squire Scholarship and the Lovell&rsquo;s Award for Law.</p>
<p>Nadia started her career in 2009 as a corporate lawyer at Slaughter and May. During this time she worked in M&amp;A and corporate restructuring in London and Hong Kong, and spent six months seconded to a FTSE-100 client. She then spent 8 years as a Partner of boutique investment management firm, S. W. Mitchell Capital. Having made Partner in her 20's after 18 months at the firm, <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">she led the Business Development team and was General Counsel to the firm. Nadia had responsibility for the firm&rsquo;s marketing and growth strategy, with a particular focus on the US, where she spends a great deal of her time.</span></p>

<p>Nadia also sits on the board of the AirAsia Superapp and FTSE-250 company, J.P. Morgan American Investment Trust. Appointed at the age of 30, Nadia became the youngest woman in history to sit on the board of a company listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. She is roughly half the average non-exec age.</p>
<p>Although Nadia started on a corporate path, her greatest aspiration is to contribute towards a kinder and more inclusive world for all - which is what led her to become so excited about blockchain technology. She sits on the Investment Committee for UK charity, BBC Children in Need and on the Board of eQuality Talent, a social impact business helping to empower Ghanian women. Most recently, Nadia founded Bia, a pioneering 'learn to earn' initiative to support young people with their mental and emotional well being.</p>
<p>In 2017, Forbes listed Nadia as &ldquo;Finance&rsquo;s Number 1 Rising Star&rdquo;. In 2018, she was named as one of Management Today&rsquo;s &ldquo;35 Under 35&rdquo; (Millennials to watch) and won the &ldquo;Rising Star Award&rdquo; at the Investment Week Awards for Women in Finance. She has also been featured in The Times, The Sunday Telegraph, Investment Week and The Financial Times' wealth management publication, FT Adviser.</p>
<p>Nadia really likes ice cream, dancing and the feeling of hitting a tennis ball well (unfortunately something that doesn&rsquo;t happen all that often!).</p>

<p>Luca works across the business, with a particular focus on product development.</p>
<p>Luca grew up in Johannesburg, where he was hugely passionate about technology and how it could alleviate the socio-economic problems that impact many South Africans. Like Andrea, Luca started his first business as a teenager, importing clothes from China and selling them to his friends.</p>
<p>Luca went on to study Computer Science before changing to complete his studies in Economics at the University of Cape Town. Luca also holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi, where he was awarded the African and Middle Eastern scholarship.</p>
<p>Luca has spent 6 years building and advising companies. Having worked as a consultant at McKinsey &amp; Company and as Head of Digital at Discovery Health, Luca&rsquo;s <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">expertise spans from strategy to product development, team management and implementation of large projects, such as South Africa&rsquo;s largest telemedicine solution that offered all South Africans access to virtual care at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.</span></p>

<p>Luca lives to eat, is always finding ways to explore new experiences and is a self identified sneaker addict. Luca is also a fitness enthusiast, spending his free time between meals with friends running outdoors or trying new fitness classes.</p>

<p>Fabrizio leads our tech team as a full stack developer.</p>
<p>He grew up in Sicily, playing with hardware from Kindergarten and teaching himself to code as a teenager.</p>
<p>Fabrizio&rsquo;s early passion for tech led him to study Computer Science at the University of Catania. Fabrizio loved the practical aspects of his IT projects so much that he decided to leave his studies after 2 years to work in tech full time.</p>
<p>Fabrizio started as a developer in 2010 at WCAP, a startup accelerator where he started to build native apps - specifically the back-end/server-side. He went on to develop for digital agency Meedori where he met Alessandro, Chris and Andrea! After gaining experience in the wide breadth of agency work, Fabrizio went on to work as a software engineer at Domotz, <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">an American company specializing in home automation. During his time at Domotz, Fabrizio worked across the entire production cycle of IT products - from apps, to e-commerce and websites. Having gathered a great deal of full stack experience, Fabrizio went on to run his own tech freelancing business before rejoining his old Meedori gang at Silent!</span></p>

<p>Fabrizio also loves exploring technology in his spare time - from micro computers to 3D printers and F1 simulators, his home is like a hardware museum! But Fabrizio&rsquo;s interest in systems doesn&rsquo;t stop at IT - he loves studying plants and biological processes too. When he&rsquo;s finally away from his computer, Fabrizio is a keen athlete - even playing volleyball for the Volley Capannori team in Lucca!</p>

<p>Fabrizio is a senior developer working across the full stack.</p>
<p>Fabrizio grew up in Catania where he could often be found taking things apart and rebuilding them - usually with his childhood friend, our &lsquo;other&rsquo; Fabrizio! He became interested in tech at a young age and is the only 6 year old coder we know. Fabrizio even presented his school coursework on a website that he built from scratch... Powerpoint just seemed too boring!</p>
<p>Fabrizio went on to study Information Technology at the Universit&agrave; degli Studi in Catania. After two years at university Fabrizio was recruited as a developer and enjoyed building so much that he decided to leave his studies to build full-time.</p>
<p>As such Fabrizio started his career in 2014 at digital agency Meedori as a <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">front-end-developer where he worked on a wide variety of projects and met many of our team members. In 2017 Fabrizio decided to freelance in order to develop his skills by working on more challenging projects. And indeed, Fabrizio started freelancing for Silent before joining us full time in 2022 when he realised that we&rsquo;re working on a lot of challenging things ;)</span></p>

<p>In his spare time Fabrizio plays volleyball in the winter (that&rsquo;s Sicilian living!), spends time at the seaside in summer and travels as much as he can. He loves animals and is the proud owner of Thayra, the legendary husky.</p>

<p>Alex is a developer, with a particular focus on the backend.</p>
<p>He grew up in Romania, where he became fascinated by programming and algorithmic optimisations as a teenager.</p>
<p>Alex spent his spare time coding small games in Unity, one of two world-leading game development engines, and from participation in coding competitions became recognised as a top 2% coder within that ecosystem by the age of 18.</p>
<p>Alex&rsquo;s passion for programming and problem solving resulted in him winning several national competitions - most notably the 2020 Olympiad in Informatics where he was awarded Romanian champion (#1!). He also achieved a top placing in the Moscow Workshops Juniors in 2020, a unique coding boot camp for high-school students, winning a <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">scholarship to attend the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.</span></p>

<p>Alex is currently studying Computer Science and Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. As a Freshman, he represented his University at the Benelux Algorithm Programming Contest in Amsterdam - Alex&rsquo;s team won first place, something the University has only done twice in 30 years.</p>
<p>Outside of his academic and technical proficiency, Alex loves cycling, playing board games with his friends and will never back down from a debate! Alex is so enthusiastic, energetic and sweet that we think he might be a golden retriever hidden inside a human body... watch this space ;)</p>

<p>Chris is our senior designer, working across all elements of design.</p>
<p>Chris spent the first 6 years of his life in Mauritius amongst exotic animals and giant fruit trees before moving to Sicily where he lives today. Chris has always been creative - by 14 he was already sketching the advertising posters for different clubs and events in Catania... he and Alessandro were Catania&rsquo;s great design competitors!</p>
<p>Chris went on to study Design and Company Communication at the Accademia delle Belle Art in Catania. What started as a bet with friends turned out to be a beautiful immersive experience for Chris.</p>
<p>He started his career as a Graphic Designer at digital agency Meedori, where he met Alessandro and Fabrizio! Chris moved into design in Web3 in 2018 after doing a project for the Malta Blockchain Summit with Andrea. He was blown away by the potential of <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">the industry. Chris is fascinated to dissect each project involved in Web3&rsquo;s components across websites &amp; web apps, native and mobile apps, UX design and graphics.</span></p>

<p>Chris&rsquo;s greatest achievement is the recognition given to him by his mum, Violetta. After great difficulty raising him (yes, Chris was a tricky little boy!), today she sees Chris as a supremely talented man and a leader in the design space - we agree Violetta!</p>

<p>Alessandro is the maestro leading our design orchestra!</p>
<p>He grew up in Sicily, where he became interested in design as he has always been able to communicate through images, art and interfaces better than words ;) Before finishing formal schooling, Alessandro had already received a number of job offers in the design space - and so his career started as a teenager as he built the visual identity of a variety of things including, clubs, festivals and olive oil.</p>
<p>Alessandro went on to study Graphic Design at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Catania, where he deepened his knowledge of communication through design.</p>
<p>Alessandro started his (adult!) career as a designer in website and app development at digital agency, Meedori. Here he explored the interface between design and tech, <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">especially in user experience... and indeed met Chris, Fabrizio and Andrea! Alessandro went on to freelance as a Graphic Designer to enable him to have the freedom to explore and develop his creativity. </span><span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">During this time he worked across branding, packaging and digital in a wide variety of industries, before joining Silent in 2019.</span></p>

<p>In both 2016 and 2020, Alessandro won the prize for best packaging at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition in New York.</p>
<p>Alessandro loves surfing in the Sicilian sea - breathing the ocean air always brings light back to his mind when he&rsquo;s looking for inspiration. He couldn&rsquo;t live anywhere else! Alessandro also enjoys dismantling and rebuilding vintage vehicles, but we&rsquo;re not entirely sure his father enjoyed the time Alessandro rebuilt his Vespa and ended up with an extra screw by the end of it!</p>

<p>Marco works across the design team with an expertise in complex 3D works.</p>
<p>Marco grew up around Rome, where he always found himself more fascinated by the artistic side of the world. This wasn&rsquo;t just in design - he loved playing the guitar, watching old movies, and trying every sport created in this universe.</p>
<p>During his artistic exploration Marco spent his Senior Year at High School as a foreign exchange student in Las Vegas where he was exposed to a plethora of design inspiration. He cannot confirm or deny exploring the bottomless buffets and wild nights at casino-hotels during this time - but if he did, it would all be in the pursuit of refining his eclectic artistic expression ;)</p>
<p>Marco went on to study Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">Politecnico di Torino where he had the opportunity to understand and learn the value that great design brings to the world. During his studies Marco became especially passionate about communicating through words and images and hasn&rsquo;t stopped since.</span></p>

<p>Marco started his formal career with us here at Silent in 2022 and he&rsquo;s eager to learn what it takes to be a designer IRL!</p>
<p>Marco really loves movies and football - so don&rsquo;t even try to reach him when a new film is out, or when AS Roma are playing! Or if they lose for that matter. Thankfully AS Roma just won their first major European title in 60 years, or we may never have seen him again!</p>

<p>Elisa manages the administrative and operational elements of the business, keeping us all in check!</p>
<p>Elisa grew up in Northern Italy where she was a keen linguist. She studied German, English and French at school, where she would hand out practice Latin tests to her classmates in order to help them with their exams.</p>
<p>Elisa went on to study Foreign Languages at the University of Milan, where she found her passion: Cultural Studies. Her dissertation about the Ellis Island Immigration Museum was included in two publications: "Culture" (the university journal) and "Isole" (a book about island philosophies). Autographed copies are available on request ;)</p>
<p>Elisa started her career as an intern at Zanichelli, one of the biggest publishers in Italy. Since then her passion for new cultures, language and travel has led her to live near Lisbon in Portugal and Sicily, where she worked in a variety of customer service roles, <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">including at Gres Panaria Portugal and Club Med. An initial 6 month visit to Portugal ended up lasting 9 years!</span></p>

<p>Alongside her mother tongue of Italian, these travels have led Elisa to become fluent in English, Portuguese, German and French.</p>
<p>Elisa&rsquo;s commitment to customer service, always going above and beyond, stood out when Andrea was on holiday at Club Med a few years ago, and he instantly snapped her up for the Silent family!</p>
<p>Elisa is also a member of her Local Council, where she fights for a future with better education and less pollution.</p>
<p>Elisa is obsessed with environmental awareness, recycling and zero waste theories. On the weekend you can find her either collecting trash in the woods near her house with other ploggers, or in the garden with her hands dirty, watering the flowers and her beloved tomato plants.</p>

<p>Olly works across Silent, predominantly leading our marketing efforts but also with expertise in product and building in the Web3 space.</p>
<p>Olly grew up between London and the wilds of West Sussex, where his entrepreneurial spirit started at a young age. As a teenager Olly bought and sold second hand flat screen TV's on eBay (the hottest tech way back then!) before setting up a door-to-door jet washing business in his local town.</p>
<p>He went on to study Marketing at Bournemouth University. During his studies Olly was recruited by Red Bull as their Student Brand Manager, executing experiential marketing campaigns on campus. As part of his degree Olly also spent a year in industry where he worked in the Marketing department at Hewlett Packard.</p>
<p>Olly started his career at Freuds as an Account Executive. During this time he gained expertise in PR before moving into digital advertising at AKQA. These two roles saw Olly work on global campaigns with brands such as Diageo (for Guinness) and Nike Football.</p>
<p>In 2011, whilst working full time in advertising, Olly started his first company - an app called &lsquo;Via'. At the time this was the only running app on the market with audio directions (before Siri, Alexa, Cortana etc.), so he was amongst the first people on earth to run home from central London with directions from his mobile phone without looking at the map at all! The app received national press coverage and was included in The <span style="font-family: Inter, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', serif;">Sunday Times Top 500 Apps in the World and the Independent Top 10 Apps of 2012.</span></p>

<p>In 2014 Olly decided to focus on his love for tech and startups and left the agency world to set up his next startup called 'WantMyBet'. This was an award winning social network for football betting in the UK. Since then Olly has continued to build socially driven digital products such as Gathr (a group meeting app) and Football Survivor (another social football betting app).</p>
<p>Olly&rsquo;s interest in Web3 stems from his passion around tech innovation and so in March 2021 he entered the NFT space. Olly&rsquo;s first NFT project was the world's first physical vs. digital auction using Steve Jobs' job application from 1973 as the vehicle for the experiment. The aim of the project was to gain a greater understanding of how we value collectibles in the emerging digital world.</p>
<p>Olly went on to launch his second NFT project 'Tiptoez' in March 2022. This project invented a new NFT mechanic: the Interlinked NFT - among each drop, groups were linked in sub-collections (each toe of a whole foot), and combinable to form a distinct NFT that is rewarded by the Tiptoez smart contract.</p>
<p>Further, his team pioneered a(nother) world-first piece of infrastructure by utilising a multi-NFT minting format that is computationally less expensive than any other similar format.</p>
<p>Olly spends the majority of his spare time playing/watching football and/or petting doggos!</p>

<p>Carlotta is the Silent illustrator, transforming our ideas and concepts into epic images.</p>
<p>Carlotta grew up in Sicily where she started sketching as a child and attended the Istituto d&rsquo;Arte M.M.Lazzaro in Catania, a specialist arts school. Carlotta&rsquo;s love for art stemmed from its natural state as her purest form of creative expression.</p>
<p>She went on to study Graphic Design at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Urbino, the birthplace of legendary Renaissance artist Raphael (just saying!).</p>
<p>Carlotta started her career doing freelance illustration, predominantly in the digital art space. Carlotta&rsquo;s work varies in style, drawing her inspiration for her work from her travels around the world, especially Mexico, Santo Domingo, Madagascar and Kenya.</p>

<p>Carlotta loves walking along the seafront - be it summer or winter, rain or shine. She also loves cats and can occasionally be found reading the day&rsquo;s news to whichever cats will listen... or maybe that was just when she was 5!</p>
